Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM)
The school and parents are partners in child rearing and it’s important to understand each other’s role. If one fails to reciprocate satisfactorily, the teaching-learning process will become unsuccessful. Parents Teachers meeting (PTM) is a prominent and notable feature of the school curriculum. The motive is close interaction of parents with teachers regarding the progress shown by their wards and finding workable solutions to the problems coming in the way of development of their wards. Periodic PTMs are arranged in order to ensure coordination in the process of the children’s education. A proactive PTM leaves a positive impact on children.
St. Xavier’s High School, Jajpur Road conducts five PTMs in a year which include result declaration and parents’ orientation. The school also conducts special PTMs for classes Xth and XIIth aiming to create a heathy ambience for the board examinees both at home and at school. It is mandatory for all parents to attend the PTMs. If the child is not making the desired progress, parents are welcomed to contact the Principal, sub-authorities, class-teachers or the concerned subject teachers so as to discuss remedial measures to be taken. Such meetings, however, are arranged on appointments made through the office of the Principal and on no account should parents contact the teachers in their classroom directly.
